Workforce analytics can be used in many ways. The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Analytics (QIC-WA) is focused on building capacity among child welfare agencies to track important measures such as time to hire, training completion rates, and workload, but these tools can also help child welfare leaders monitor continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts in practice. In this video, QIC-WA workforce champion Vince Ciola from the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, discusses how an agency can use workforce analytics to assess how well staff are managing risk assessments. He describes the process of identifying a strategy for improvement, developing a plan to address the problem, and then gathering and using data to see if expected changes are happening. CQI is a process that can help agencies improve practice to get the best outcomes for children and families. Workforce analytics provide a valuable tool to support agencies as they monitor changes over time.
